Melissa Peterman joins Reba on Tour

Reba McEntire has brought her friend (and new label mate) Melissa Peterman out on her co-headlining arena tour with George Strait. During Reba’s set, the two do a hilarious bit on stage, reminiscent Lucille Ball & Vivian Vance’s slapstick synergy as Lucy & Ethel in the classic ‘I Love Lucy’ series. “Melissa is so much fun to be with on stage or TV,” says Reba, who was surprised during her bit with Melissa Saturday night in Tacoma, WA when Melissa led the arena in a rendition of “Happy Birthday”, commemorating the superstar’s birthday which was the following day, Sunday March 28th. Here is the crowd in Tacoma singing "Happy Birthday" to Reba:

Carrie Underwood Grabs Her 12th #1 Single

Carrie Underwood’s “Temporary Home” becomes the 12th #1 single of her career and the second chart-topper from her Platinum-certified Play On collection. "Temporary Home" has climbed to the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs in a mere 18 weeks, and is the fastest climbing song than any other single this year.

This is just one of seven tracks that Underwood co-wrote for Play On, and it is her fifth co-written single to top the charts. “Temporary Home” reflects deep and emotional moments that occur in life, but the message is one that Carrie has always seen as uplifting, as she says, “It’s hopeful, and each person in each story, in each different place in their life, knows that things are going to be okay.”

The video for "Temporary Home" has topped the countdown for the fifth consecutive week

Carrie is also on the cover of the April issue of Allure magazine which is on newsstands now.

Trace Adkins Will Seek Advice from Toby Keith

Trace Adkins who recently signed with Toby Keith's recording label Show Dog Universal, will be releasing a new album in August. Adkins tells the Green Bay Gazette about his decision to join the label: "I entered into this thing because I have a lot of respect for Toby. I'm finishing up this new record, and when I get ready to make that decision on what the first single is going to be, I'm going to sit down with him and we'll go over the stuff, because I value his opinion." The singer also noted, "I had seen how Toby's organization was run when I toured with him last year. I saw how the representatives from his record label interacted with people, and I was impressed by that. When they merged with Universal, that's when I made the phone call to Toby. That's really what made it more appealing to me." Trace has been busy touring with Martina McBride on the Shine All Night Tour.

Hey everyone, Pickler here. I want to thank you all for being such special fans and let you know that I’ve decided to make some changes to my website and fan club. We’re moving to a new website home in April. The site you see there will be familiar, but have more content and be easier to use.

Part of the website changes will give you greater access to music, photos, videos, and message boards. I have felt for awhile that everyone should have access to these features without having to pay for it as a Fan Club member. So, as part of the website changes, we’re closing the Official Fan Club. I’m really excited about this new direction and that everyone can afford to be part of it!

Josh Turner's "Why Don't We Just Dance" Songwriters Are Honored

ASCAP and BMI, the major performance rights organizations, joined resources at Nashville's Cabana restaurant Tuesday, March 23rd, to honor the songwriters of Josh Turner's 4-week #1 single, "Why Don't We Just Dance." Turner was in attendance to lead the applause for songwriters Darrell Brown and Jonathan Singleton, both ASCAP members, and Jim Beavers, who's affiliated with BMI. BMI's Jody Williams informed the crowd of celebrants that "Why Don't We Just Dance" is Beavers' fourth No. 1 song and Turner's third. The song, he noted, is also producer Frank Rogers' 29th chart-topper. "The heart of Josh Turner's music has not wavered since Long Black Train [his signature self-penned hit from 2003]," Williams asserted. "He's as gifted a singer as has ever recorded in Nashville." "When I first heard this song," said Turner, "I thought the country and the world needed to hear this message. I didn't realize [the song's power] myself until I heard it on the radio the day we shot pictures for the album." He said the song gets a "huge reaction" in his shows and admitted he felt momentarily bleak when he learned that it had failed to remain No. 1 for a fifth week. Musing about this being his third No. 1, Turner quipped, "I had a two-week No. 2 spot [with Firecracker]. That was Taylor Swift's fault, but we won't mention any names." He said his ultimate goal has always been to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and that he has only 13 years to go to become eligible -- plus some more "great songs" like the one being honored. *Information Courtesy of CMT

Brooks & Dunn Awarded the Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award

Brooks & Dunn were awarded the Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award last night at the T.J. Martell Honors Gala which took place at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville. "I don’t look at this as a music award, especially the lifetime achievement. I like to think my career’s not over. I've still got some to go," Kix Brooks remarked to Country Weekly. "It's very humbling to get a pat on the back from some people that I really admire a whole lot. Both of my parents died to cancer—my mom when she was 31 years old from breast cancer. Now, most times that is easily healed. I hope with this research, that someday cancer will be like polio and small pox—that we will see and end to it." New Country Artist Danny Gokey performed at the event last night while Tim McGraw and Big Kenny (from Big & Rich) were presenters at the event.

Brad Paisley Celebrates Two Recent #1's

Brad Paisley celebrated the success of two of his recent No. 1 hits, Welcome to the Future and American Saturday Night, at an industry party at Nucci's Italian Ice & Gelato in Franklin, TN., on Monday, March 22nd.

Ironically Brad chose the unusual location because "Italian Ice" is mentioned in American Saturday Night and Brad wished to have a connection with one of the songs. In addition, it's also a favorite spot for Brad & his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who attended the celebration.

Before the celebration, Paisley told reporters that the two songs have a common bond. "These songs are pieces of my life and it's interesting that both are observations about the world," Brad explained. "They are similar in the sense that they are larger than personal relationship songs."

Brad also talked about his upcoming H2O World Tour presented by Chevy which will kick off this May opening in Virgina Beach. "We were talking abut the upcoming summer tour," Brad noted. "The idea was having 'Water' as the next single from the album and we wanted to have it peaking by summertime. And I think my agent said, 'Why don’t you call it the H2O Tour?'"

A portion of the tour proceeds will benefit Hope Through Healing Hands, which aims to provide clean drinking water for countries around the world.

Sugarland Is Back In The Studio

Kenny Chesney Heads Back to the Oprah Winfrey Show

Yes its true, Kenny Chesney is heading back to Chicago the day following his birthday on Saturday, March 27, to spend time with Oprah Winfrey for an episode airing April 9th. Providing a first peak at the movie, centered around five of Chesney's dozen NFL stadium shows from last year, Chesney will also give Oprah a view into himself. In addition, there the show will also have a "surprise".

"If there's one thing about Oprah," Chesney said, "it's the way she makes you feel so comfortable and so understood. I've done her show three times, I think, and every time, you work harder than you realize - cause you just want to be as good as she is - and you open up more than you knew you could...and sometimes you even find out things about yourself. Or at least, I do."

"So, when we started talking about where to take this movie...to bring people into what it was, how it came together, what it means to me...," Chesney said. "I figured this movie came out of a whole bunch of dreams I've had over the years; where would be the dream place to show people what we've been doing? And really, there's only one place: 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' And just like jamming with my idols onstage, or playing the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Ga. or selling out Gillette Stadium all those years ago, if you're willing to dream it, it can happen."

Without giving away the secret about the "surprise", Kenny took a field team from Oprah with him to the Florida Keys for a special afternoon, according to his publicist. In regards to the surprise, "when the producer's put the question to me, it took me back," said Chesney "In some ways, obviously, I have the means to do whatever I'd truly want to do, but sometimes that means stopping and looking around. With our schedule that's not always as easy as you'd think. Sometimes, too, people will do things for Oprah, they might not do for the rest of us."

Although Kenny is not doing a headlining tour, he has been diligently working on several tasks such as his next album, writing a preface to ESPN's Mike & Mike's new book Rules for Sports & Life, as well as about a dozen performances this summer. We are also enjoying Chesney's current single Ain't Back Yet as it is played nationwide on the radio and steadily climbing the country charts and also serves as the closing theme for his "Kenny Chesney Summer in 3-D" Movie which will be released April 21st.

Kenny Chesney Write Preface for ESPN'S Mike & Mike's Upcoming Book

Kenny Chesney may not be headlining a full tour this year but my gosh is he staying busy. Not only is he getting ready to release his Summer In 3D Movie in less than 1 month, not only is he working on a new album to be released later this year, not only is he performing 11 shows this summer (so far)...... BUT he is also wrote a preface to ESPN's Mike and Mike's upcoming book titled "MIKE & MIKE's Rules For Sports and Life". Kenny commented of Mike and Mike, “They're a little bit crazy and irreverent, but they know their sports -- and from completely unique perspectives -- and aren't afraid to hash it out. To me, it's a lot like what goes on on my bus when we're out on the road, except, they're on ESPN-2 and ESPN radio. So when they asked if I would write something for their book, I was right there. I'd never done anything like that before, but it was honored to be asked.” "He did an awesome job," said Mike Greenberg of Chesney's writing. "He completely got us..." "It's not hard to do," Chesney responds. "They have a lot of heard - and a lot of fun. If you're gonna go at sports or life or whatever, Mike and Mike know how to do it with humor, with passion and that comes through when you listen, when you watch and certainly when you read their book." "MIKE & MIKE's Rules For Sports and Life" hits the shelves April 7th, or you can pre-order on April 6th by clicking HERE Keep your ears & eyes opened in the coming weeks as Kenny Chesney will be making an appearance on the Mike and Mike show.

Justin Moore Talks About Being A Dad

Justin Moore proudly welcomed his first child, Ella Kole, born this past February. Being one month into fatherhood, Justin was asked if he and his wife Kate have gotten adjusted to life with a child. “You know, I’ve been joking that I used to come home to get rest, but now I get rest when I head out on the road,” says Justin with a smirk. “Seriously though, everything is going great. But I gotta tell you, I feel kinda bad because my wife takes the brunt of the responsibility since I’ve been gone so much on tour.” Even though Justin isn’t at home as much as he may want to be, he is definitely feeling the change that a child brings. “It’s amazing how immediately your perspective on life changes,” continues Justin. “I was laying in bed the other night with her, realizing how tiny she still is. But, you know, my grandma said something once that was pretty funny: ‘you can’t expect a poodle and a pekingese to have a Great Dane!’ Both my wife and I are pretty small people, so she doesn’t have a prayer. She’ll probably be tiny her whole life!” Well you know what they say, great things come in small packages and we've seen that to be true with Justin Moore's career as it continues to grow. Justin just finished up the final leg of the American Saturday Night Tour and will be re-joining Brad Paisley on his upcoming H20 World Tour. *Content Courtesy of TVMC Press Release

Steel Magnolia Feels Support From Family While On The Road

Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones each come from a strong family, and during the months away from loved ones, the support they feel from afar is essential to keeping them going. “I think you need that support when you are out on the road and going through a lot of changes,” notes Meghan. “Being reminded of where you come from by the people back home keeps you grounded. It’s really great to pick up the phone and call your mom and feel normal, and get grounded in the things that matter most in life.” Josh chimes in: “If you forget where you come from you stop growing, and we don’t ever want to do either.” The duo continues their chart climb this week with their Top 15-and-climbing debut single “Keep On Lovin’ You”.
