Catching Up With Whitney Duncan In A Recent Interview

We had the opportunity to catch up with Whitney Duncan and discussed her newly released album 'Right Road Now' as well as some other little tid-bits. We also included several questions from her fans. So check it out and get to know more about Whitney Duncan.

CMR: Thank you so much for taking the time to interview with us, we certainly appreciate it. We received an overwhelming response with questions from your fans so we will be sure to include some of those in our interview.
WD: Thank you! My fans are awesome!

CMR: You just recently released Right Road Now & I know we are enjoying the album and from the sounds of it, your fans are enjoying it too. What did you do to celebrate its release?
WD: I took myself shopping and bought new shoes on the day it was released! Ha! I plan on getting together with some of my co-writers, band members, & friends in the next couple of weeks to celebrate!

CMR: You did an amazing, selfless act and did a USO Tour in Iraq and Kuwait. What was that experience like for you and can you see yourself doing something like this again?
WD: I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life! It was nice to give back a little bit to the guys & girls that keep us safe over here. They are the selfless ones. They treated me & my band so amazing...and showed us the ropes a bit. I've realized if I wasn't in the music business, I'd probably be a sniper. LOL

CMR: You looked stunning on the orange carpet at the ACM Awards a few weeks ago. What was your favorite part/experience while out in Vegas for the event?
WD: Thank you!!! The show was great, and walking the orange carpet was so fun. But my favorite part was after it was over & I got to take off my shoes (they were the most uncomfortable shoes EVER) I went to some of the parties & hung out with some great friends & new acquaintances. :)

CMR: You performed at the Grand Ole Opry late last year, what was that like for you?
WD: It was truly an honor! It's always been a dream/goal of mine. When I stepped out on that stage, it was a pretty emotional experience. Plus, my whole family got to come watch, so that was nice!

CMR: Here is one of our favorite questions; if you could pick any artist to record a duet with, whom would you pick and why?
WD: Picking 1 is difficult!! Either John Cougar Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Jonny Lang, or Ray LaMontagne. I love all their voices.

CMR: Your talented not only as a singer but also as a writer and you co-wrote all the songs on your new album, was it difficult to pick what songs to put on this album?
WD: OH yeah! We had 2 extra songs, & to pick which 2 had to be left off was pretty impossible, which is why we gave the fans 3 options and had them pick their favorite. I would've gone round and round over which one to include, so they saved me the torture. :)

CMR: Do you have an absolute all time favorite song that you have written and why would you call it your favorite?
WD: I do, and it's not on this album. But it will be on the next. It's about where I'm from & just a really touching song. Don't want to give away the title just yet;) lol

CMR: Melanie from Louisville wants to know what is your favorite TV Show & Favorite Movie?
WD: TV shows--Gossip Girls, Brothers & Sisters Movies--The Godfather, Pride & Prejudice, Princess Bride, Seven, The Notebook, Sweet Home Alabama

CMR: John from Montana wants to know which type of guitar you prefer to play, acoustic or electric?
WD: ELECTRIC!!!! Hands down!!!

CMR: Katie from Baltimore wants to know, who is one of your musical inspirations?
WD: Elvis was the biggest! He's the whole reason I started singing & performing.

CMR: Amy from Wisconsin wants to know what is the last album you bought?
WD: Mine, haha. Miranda Lambert-Revolution Gary Allan--Get off on the pain

CMR: Chris from San Diego wants to know if you ever tried surfing and did you like it? If not, would you ever give it a try?
WD: I have surfed...twice actually. Learned in Hawaii, & then also tried it again in Galveston, TX. I got up pretty fast, but it is hard! I'd try it again...i think i just need a better teacher than the one I had. ;)

CMR: Thank you so much for taking the time and talking with us. We wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy the amazing year that is ahead of you.
WD: Thank you again! So far this year has been amazing! & it keeps getting better. :) Thanks to all the fans that sent the questions & bought "Right Road Now". Love ya'll!

Trace Adkins New Single 'This Ain't No Love Song' Set To Release Next Month

Trace Adkins is releasing his next new single, "This Ain't No Love Song" on Monday, May 17th. This single was written by Tony Lane, Marcel and David Lee, and the song is the lead single from Trace's forthcoming album due to release on August 24th on Toby Keith's newly formed record label with Show Dog - Universal Music.

This is not your standard love song from Adkins but a tune on the subject with a clever twist. Trace's voice shines to the point where you wonder if the song was written especially for him. The platinum-selling singer pulls in equal parts of a melodious ballad mixed in with some backwoods country charm.

"We are so pumped to have Trace join our roster, and equally as excited that he has given us such a fantastic album," stated Mark Wright, President, Show Dog - Universal Music. "The first single is a great example of how Trace can take a lyric and put the listener right in the middle of the storyline. This is a perfect match of a brilliant communicator delivering an incredible piece of music."

"Toby has said this new music has a smile on it and maybe that's just a reflection of where I'm at right now," says Adkins. "I have this new sense of invigoration and making this record was a lot of fun."

Trace Adkins will debut his new single at the 59th Annual Miss USA pageant that airs LIVE on NBC, Sunday, May 16 from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas (7:00 pm ET/PT).

Trace's new album, Cowboy's Back in Town hits stores nationwide August 24.

Kenny Chesney Summer In 3D Earns $1.2Million During Opening Week/Weekend

The anticipated Kenny Chesney Summer In 3D movie opened last week earning a successful $1.2 million during its first 4 day run at theaters. Summer In 3D's opening night showings earned the film #7 on its opening day. By Thursday, the film out-earned all 3D films by legitimate music acts other than the Rolling Stones and U2, keeping in mind that the Stones & U2's films were in the theaters for extended runs, while Kenny's film is only slated for two weeks with limited showings. “I’ve always wished the fans could see what I see, and with this they can,” said Chesney, who emerged somehow refreshed after spending hundreds of hours in the film’s editing process. “And I got to see it all from places I can’t usually see, too. In editing, I could get the enormity of this thing. It was good for me to be able to reflect on all this, and to wrap my arms around it. Somehow, you wind up inspired.” Summer In 3D runs thru Sunday, May 2nd. Times & locations can be found at
