Miranda Lambert's 'Cause For Paws' Is A Success

Miranda Lambert's 3rd Annual Cause For Paws Sold-Out Event was held last weekend and $91,000 was raised for this Cause that is dear to Miranda. Guests enjoyed dinner and a concert featuring Miranda Lambert with special guests Nightwork, Kacey Musgraves, Whiskey Myers and a surprise appearance by Miranda's fiance, Blake Shelton.
Miranda offered to donate $2,800 for Blake Shelton to come up and perform his hit single "Hillbilly Bone". The crowd was encouraged to donate as well while the couple sang together for "tips". It is reported that over $1,000 was donated from fans during the song.
“It is the best feeling in the world to know we are helping in the fight to treat and find homes for abandoned and abused animal,” says Lambert. “Since we started working with the Humane Society of East Texas over 3 years ago, we have donated over $325,000 and they have become a ‘no kill’ shelter. Every year it amazes me that people spend their hard-earned money to partner with us in this fight. I am very grateful!”
This year's event was the best so far,” said Bev Lambert who is the Director of MuttNation. “Miranda was able to bring her full band to her home community and it was the first time many in the area had seen her perform. There was definitely electricity in the air!”
A portion of the events proceeds were donated to help animals that were affected by the recent Nashville flood.

It was originally created as a homecoming concert and a day of family fun, food and music for all of our neighbors," says Rory. “When people actually started coming in from as far as Michigan, Florida and even Washington State, we decided it needed to be a special yearly event.”
“When you travel all over the country singing for people like we do,” adds Joey, “It's so
neat to be able to have them come to us and to share our own community with them." Joey says, "and the name Bib & Buckle fest? Well, it's kind of obvious I guess. I've always worn a belt buckle with my jeans and Rory loves his Carhartt bib overalls."

"This year, for fun, we decided to make it a "Can You Duet" Season 1 reunion and invite some of the other artists that were on the TV show with us in 2008”, says Rory. “They are all so talented and honestly, we never get to see each other any more. This is a chance for us to all reconnect, and even more...for our fans to connect with the other artists they loved on the show also.”

Uncle Kracker Heading To Nashville & Releasing New Album

As previously reported, Top Dog/Atlantic recording artist Uncle Kracker will be releasing a new 6-song album entitled “Happy Hour - The South River Road Sessions.” The 6-song release is due to arrive in stores and at all DSPs on June 22nd.

The new album features reinterpretations of tracks originally found on Uncle Kracker’s acclaimed 2009 album, “HAPPY HOUR,” recorded in Nashville by producers Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band, George Jones) and Rob Cavallo (Kid Rock). Among the highlights is a country version of the RIAA platinum certified single, “Smile,” which reached #2 at Hot AC radio upon its initial release. Currently, “Smile” is approaching Top 25 at Country, with its companion video currently standing as both a top 5 smash on Great American Country’s Top 20 Country Countdown and a top 20 rotation favorite at CMT.

The release also includes new renditions of “Good To Be Me” featuring guest vocals from longtime friend/songwriting partner Kid Rock (who also produced the track) and “Me Again,” a touching duet with rising country singer Jesse Lee. Finally, “Happy Hour – The South River Road Sessions” includes “Letter To My Daughters,” a classic cut from Uncle Kracker’s back catalogue specifically selected by the Detroit-based singer-songwriter for inclusion on this release.

Uncle Kracker is, of course, no stranger to the world of country music, having already topped Billboard’s “Hot Country Songs” chart for five consecutive weeks with “When The Sun Goes Down,” his 2004 collaboration with country superstar Kenny Chesney. In 2008, Uncle Kracker returned to the Country charts having co-written Kid Rock’s smash “All Summer Long” which peaked at #3. What’s more, Uncle Kracker has toured extensively with Chesney as both support act and special guest.

“I’ve always had a genuine passion for country. I think that audiences appreciate that, and that’s why they’re giving me a chance,” Uncle Kracker explains. “Country music was one of the types of music I grew up with, so elements of it naturally come out in my songwriting. Listening to a lot of my songs - all the way back to ‘Follow Me’ - I feel like I’ve been making country music for years.”

Next up, Uncle Kracker will celebrate the release of “Happy Hour - The South River Road Sessions” with a visit to the 2010 CMT Music Awards, slated for broadcast Wednesday, June 9th on CMT. He will then be among the star-studded line-up appearing in Nashville at the annual CMA Music Festival, scheduled for June 13 at the festival’s Riverfront Park Stage.

From there, the hard-traveling Uncle Kracker will embark on a summer-long tour that will include headline dates as well as shows at both music festivals and state and county fairs across America. For a complete itinerary and ticket information, please visit

Zac Brown Band Talks About Their New Upcoming Album

The Zac Brown Band have become a fan favorite ever since the first single "Chicken Fried". The band has picked up a Grammy for Best New Artist as well as putting a double-platinum album for The Foundation under their belt. We are fairly certain that their next album will not go unnoticed and even better, there is a possibility that it may be available before the end of this year.

“I would say 85 percent of the album is already cut,” band member Coy Bowles told Billboard. “Zac’s done his vocals. I think he’s got to go back and do some guitar and things of that nature. I don’t want to put any dates out there, but I think it’s set to come out in the fall.”

The Zac Brown Band had about 50 songs to pick from as they recorded the project, which will continue to reflect the group’s multi-genre approach to music.

“We still lean toward a Southern rock/country kind of thing, but there’s definitely radio-friendly stuff and still kind of an island, beachy vibe, and then we go off the beaten path and get into a kind of jam-band world,” Coy noted. “So I think it’s going to be really representative of where we are right now.”

At this time, the album title is tentatively called Get What You Give. "Colder Weather" is expected to be included on the new album. A live version featuring Little Big Town was recorded and included on the previously released Pass The Jar: Live From The Fabulous Fox Theatre In Atlanta.

For more information on the Zac Brown Band and their new album release, please visit their official site by clicking HERE.

Alan Jackson Honored The Fallen Miners At A Benefit Concert

Alan Jackson performed a benefit concert on Saturday (5/22) honoring the fallen miners as well as the rescue workers from the West Virginia mining disaster. The 27 families who lost loved ones and the two whose family members survived met with Jackson before the show. The family for Cory Davis, whose 21st birthday was Saturday the day of the concert, gave Alan a bracelet that signified his birthday. Jackson wore it throughout the show.

Alan Jackson told the packed auditorium that, “We’re here to honor the ones that we lost or were injured and we’re gonna celebrate their lives with some music.”

During the show, Jackson’s long time pedal steel player Robbie Flint who is originally from Sylvester, WV, performed the moving ballad “Coalwood,” from the film October Sky, as the faces of the miners flashed on two large screens on either side of the stage. As each name and face appeared, cheers reverberated through the crowd. Jackson followed the heart-felt tribute with his post 9/11 anthem, “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning.”

Profits from the benefit concert will go to the Montcoal Mining Disaster Fund which is administrated by the West Virginia Council of Churches.

“Alan Jackson was the right music star for the moment to come to West Virginia and honor the memories of the miners lost at the Upper Big Branch and to all miners who go into the mines each day,” said Rev. Dennis Sparks, Exec Director of the Fund. “His music and performance offers a genuine expression of the hearts of our people. We offer a heartfelt thank you to Alan Jackson, his band and his entire team. The Montcoal Mining Disaster Fund will be enormously enhanced through his concert.”

Shania Twain and Dolly Parton were previous recipients of this award back in the 1990's. “Love Story” was honored for receiving more radio airplay in the past year than any other pop song and earned BMI’s Country Song of the Year honors in 2009. Swift also won BMI’s Country Song of the Year in 2008, for “Teardrops On My Guitar” which was the year she became the youngest songwriter in any genre to win the honor. Taylor Swift is the first female songwriter in history to win back-to-back BMI Song of the Year awards, in any genre.

Uncle Kracker Releasing A Countrifed Six Pack

Is there room for another 6-pack on your shelf??? You should make some room because Uncle Kracker is releasing a six song EP entitled 'Happy Hour: The South River Road Sessions'. The six pack is expected to be in stores later this month. Kracker says he owes a lot to the DJs at WYCD of his hometown in Detroit. "If it wasn't for WYCD, my label wouldn't have even thought about taking it to country radio," Kracker tells the Detroit News. "Country radio seems to have a few people left who take chances, and do things the way they want to do them regardless of who's going to yell at them. There still seems to be a general passion for music at the country stations I've visited." Uncle Kracker is not new to the country scene, he has teamed up with Kenny Chesney on the hit single "When The Sun Goes Down". Kracker has joined Chesney several times on stage and opened for him last year at The Hard Rock in New York. We can expect to start seeing alot more of Uncle Kracker, he says "It's all touring for the next two years for this kid".For more information on Uncle Kracker, click HERE to visit his official website.

Brad Paisley Launches H20 World Tour This Weekend

Summertime is finally here as Brad Paisley launches his H20 World Tour which kicks off this Friday in Virgina Beach. The past couple of weeks Paisley, along with many other artists, has been regrouping after the devastation the flooding left behind. After assessing the loss of equipment, lighting, gear, etc... his crew went into recovery mode by ordering new equipment or arranging for refurbishing of some. Another rehearsal hall was obtained and late last week Paisley and band were able to rehearse for a couple of days before heading to Virginia Beach this week.
“When I finally walk out onstage in Virginia Beach, Va., on the first date of the H2O tour – no need to point out the irony, thank you – it will mean so much to all of us than any other tour we’ve ever done. Or probably ever will. I will stand up there more thankful than I’ve ever been for the people in the audience, the band at my back, the crew that makes it happen and the town I’ve never been prouder to represent,” writes Paisley in the current issue of Billboard magazine. Brad did share with CMT Insider this past weekend that he will open his show with the song "Water".

The H2O World Tour will hit more than 75 cities in the US, Canada and Europe within the next 12 months with Chevy is the title sponsor for the tour. Special guests opening for Paisley will be Darius Rucker and Justin Moore. Easton Corbin, Steel Magnolia & Josh Thompson will join the tour as well on the "Water World Plaza Stage" For more information, please click HERE to visit Brad Paisley's official website.
