Darius Rucker Launches End Zone Obsession Football Challenge

Darius Rucker, a well known sports fan, has launched his End Zone Obsession Football Challenge. With the 2010 football season heating up, this 17-round weekly online interactive football game, presented by Athlon Sports, will give fans a chance to get in on the action with Darius.  Click HERE to register and join the challenge!

“Anyone that knows me knows that I am fanatical about two things– music and sports.  This game is the perfect way for all my friends to join me with my sports obsession,” says Rucker before quickly reminding everyone to bring their A-game!

“With the launch of the End Zone Obsession, Capitol Records has the opportunity to harness the passion of football fans in support of Darius Rucker’s new album,” said Nathan Karp, Athlon Sports’ Interactive Director.  “We have a long history of pairing sports and music to create compelling promotions and we believe Darius Rucker’s End Zone Obsession is primed for great success.”

Participants simply pick the winners of each game every week and earn points for each correct prediction.  At the end of each round, the ten highest point earners will receive prizes.  The three fans with the end-of-season highest cumulative point totals will also receive awards, with the top point earner winning a Grand Prize trip for two to Hawaii for one of football’s biggest weekends.

Included in the game is everything fans need to make their decisions, including real-time team statistics, competitor picks, and weekly pro-football articles such as Player Profiles, The League Notebook, Marquee Match-ups, and more.  Fans also have the ability to compete head-to-head against one another, or against Darius, as well as being able to set up both public and private challenge leagues for up to 100 people, where they can compete against their friends and talk on private member-only message boards.  Fans can also earn trophies for their virtual locker room, design football jerseys to display in their personal profiles, and created their own blogs, among other items.
