Brad Paisley Sells Out Eastern Canada & Will Be Featured On Upcoming Episode Of Modern Marvels American Trucking

Brad Paisley took his H2O Frozen Over Tour to Eastern Canada this past weekend and played to sellout crowds in London, Hamilton, Montreal and Ottawa.  Over 40,000 tickets were sold for the four shows.  One of the highlights of the weekend was playing the Bell Centre in Montreal on Saturday evening.  This was the first time Paisley had ever played Montreal and all advertising and promotion for the show had been done in French, as well as the review that followed the performance in Montreal’s largest newspaper LaPresse.  The review ends with the words “Brad, reviens,” which translates, “Brad, come back.” –summing up the whole review.

Another highlight of the weekend happened last night in Ottawa.  To the crowd’s delight Carrie Underwood and husband, Mike Fisher, who plays for the Ottawa Senators hockey team, joined Paisley on his final encore, “Alcohol.”

The H2O Tour is on an upcoming Modern Marvels – American Trucking show that airs on the History Channel this Friday, Feb. 4, 8:00pm central.  This episode of Modern Marvels explores the diverse world of American trucking and the men and women behind it.  The show followed Paisley and his crew on the road between Little Rock, AR and Tulsa, OK last November and shows behind the scenes of what it takes to move a huge production from one city to another in a few short hours.

H2O Frozen Over will take a break this week and then hits the road again Feb. 10 when it plays Atlanta, GA.

Jacob Lyda's Debut Single "I'm Doing Alright" Heads To Country Radio

Jacob Lyda's debut single, "I'm Doing Alright," has been shipped to country radio and is going for adds.  The contagious debut gives listeners a feel good song just in time for spring.

Showcasing Lyda's richly textured honky-tonk vocal style, "I'm Doing Alright" was written by Lyda and
Paul Overstreet (“Love Can Build A Bridge” "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" "Forever and Ever Amen").'sMatt Bjorke gave the single four stars saying, "the melody is sweet and instantly warm, just like Lyda’s vocal… Jacob Lyda seems to have the kind of neo-traditionalist voice that just feels like it was meant to be played all over the radio dial.”  Leslie Armstrong of Nashville Country Club said Lyda’s vocals “could quite possibly be the new country generation’s answer to helping fill the multi-award winning singer/songwriter’s shoes in the future.”

Originally from a small town in the northeast corner of Alabama, Lyda sings country music like a modern master of the genre, and his songs command your attention in the same way that country classics do. Lyda put it best by saying,"Music chose me. I didn't choose it."

Lyda is currently crisscrossing the country on a national radio tour in support of the singer/songwriter’s radio debut. To hear the new single and for more information on Jacob Lyda, visit

Taylor Swift Celebrates #1 Successes At Nashville Party

Taylor Swift was the guest of honor at a party at Nashville's Hard Rock CafĂ© on Friday (January 28). Family, friends, bandmembers and music industry executives gathered to celebrate her many career successes under the banner of "Heavy Metal at the Hard Rock."

When the 21-year-old superstar entered the party in a polka-dot dress and red pumps, she hugged and chatted with many of the party's attendees before the head of her record label, Scott Borchetta, climbed on stage to begin the numerous presentations that would last more than 30 minutes. Among the many awards presented were several for the No. 1 success of her 'Mine' single and video, as well as the triple platinum success of her current album, 'Speak Now,' which sold more than one-million copies the first week of release -- the biggest debut-week sales for an album since 2005.  Taylor also received a plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America commemorating total shipments of more than 13 million records. Other presentations were made by BMI, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Country Aircheck, Music Row magazine, Country Radio Broadcasters, the Country Music Association, Universal Music Group Distribution, Nielsen SoundScan, CMT and GAC.

Since launching her career in 2006 when her debut single 'Tim McGraw' hit the charts, Taylor has achieved many musical milestones, including selling in excess of 20-million albums worldwide and 35-million song downloads. For the second time in three years, she is Billboard and Nielsen SounScan's top-selling artist of the year, with more than 4.4-million albums sold in 2010. She is the top-selling digital artist in music history with more than 25-million tracks sold to date. Her self-titled debut album is five-times platinum, while her sophomore effort, 'Fearless,' is now quadruple platinum.

After the presentations took place, the star of the party was called up on stage to say a few words. The singer-songwriter was nearly speechless with all of the accolades, but the first thing she said to the crowd was, "I am so happy right now." She turned to her label president to thank him for "letting me be me." She called her producer, Nathan Chapman, over to her side, and revealed he is going to be a father! Nathan's wife is four-and-a-half months pregnant with the couple's first child.

Taylor even took to her Twitter page late Friday night to thank her fans for supporting her latest album, 'Speak Now.' "We all got dressed up and went to a party tonight where lots of wonderful people gave me and my producer Nathan shiny plaques -- we high fived," Taylor wrote. "To anyone who welcomed 'Speak Now' into your life, you're the reason we got to celebrate tonight. Thankyouthankyouthankyouuuu."

The songstress is set to play 90 shows in 19 countries during her upcoming Speak Now World Tour, which launches February 9 in Singapore.

Reba's Video Shoot For New Single "If I Were A Boy"

Reba's back behind the camera as she is filming a video for her new single "If I Were A Boy"!  Reba also made an update to her blog and it sounds like she enjoyed some recent time off!

Good news!!  I’m on my 2nd lesson for Spanish!  That still doesn’t make it right for someone to come up to me and start speaking perfect Spanish and expect me to understand them, okay!!!!????  This will take a little longer than I expected but what I’m very surprised about is, I love it!!!  I’m having a great time learning!

On another note, I’ve had this week off reading and enjoying life!  Mama gave me a book about Rhett Butler’s family, fiction of course, but being a huge fan of “Gone With The Wind”, I’m loving every minute of it.  I also finished a book Chris Rich had recommended to me entitled,  ”A Reliable Wife”.  I have to say I like reading about Rhett better.

We’re taping the video for “If I Were A Boy” this week so keep your fingers crossed for all of us that it goes smoothly and as planned.  Then we’ll be in Florida for three shows with George and LeeAnn.

Hope to see you all soon,

Josh Turner's "Your Man" Showcased By American Idol Contestant

Sixteen-year-old Scotty McCreery chose Josh Turner’s No. 1 hit “Your Man” to be his ticket to Hollywood during recent auditions for American Idol, which aired Wednesday night on Fox.

The deep-voiced Scotty, a student at Garner High School in Garner, N.C., auditioned in Milwaukee, WI.  Josh is flattered that the aspiring singer would choose one of his No. 1 hits to showcase his voice for Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, who gave Scotty a unanimous ‘yes’ to advance him to the next round.

“I got the link to Scotty's audition the other night,” he says. “I am honored he would choose to sing one of my songs and I'm impressed by his voice and his character. I'll definitely be pulling for him!  Maybe he'll sing my new single in Hollywood?  Totally kidding.”

After the show aired, Josh became a popular topic on Twitter. It was another Josh song, his current single, “Wouldn’t Be a Man,” that earned praise on Twitter from Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson. “’I Wouldn’t Be a Man’ by Josh Turner gives me chills,” she tweeted. “What a beautiful voice. I’ve had it set on repeat for about 30 minutes now.”

The humbled Josh tweeted in response, “Well, thank you Shawn!”

Turner has sold more than 4 million albums and garnered three multi-week No. 1s , including “Your Man” and “Would You Go with Me.”

The debut single from his current album Haywire, “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” was the first four-week No. 1 single of his career and was the most-played song at country radio in 2010, according to Mediabase. It also won an American Country Award for Single of the Year-Male in December.  His last single, “All Over Me,” also reached No. 1, making him one of only seven country artists to have two No. 1 hits in 2010.

Justin Moore Working On Sophomore Album Due Out Later This Year

Justin Moore has been working on his sophomore album, and he is looking forward to getting it into the hands of his fans later this year. The Arkansas native says it's going to be a little more country than his self-titled debut. “When I say that, people are like, "Huh?" But I think it's got a little more of an old-school feel,” Justin explains. “The first one was pretty country but also had a pretty good southern rock feel to it, which obviously I'm a big fan of, and it's still got some of that, but a little less of it.”

He also states that he has become a better songwriter in the past few years. “There's two or three songs on there that I just think are the best songs I've ever written in my life.”

Moore was in the studio last week, and he tweeted he was “recording his new single and an old favorite "Redneck Side‟ for [the] new album.”

Justin is one of the hardest working guys in the business, either in the studio or on the road. He learned his tremendous work ethic, not only from his parents, but from playing sports and the odd jobs he had to try to make ends meet while pursuing a career in music.

“Playing sports as much as I did, really helped me a lot with work ethic and how to work well with others, you know, a team and that kind of stuff,” explains Justin. “And then fast-forward moving to Nashville, it's such a team effort to get to this point in your career…The sports helped me a lot, and then working the crappy jobs up here to pay your bills, it's tough. You've got to swallow your pride and do whatever it takes to get to the point you want to get at. I've done everything from sell meat out of the back of my pickup to carrying furniture to this place and that place.”

Justin is among the country stars who have signed up to take part in The Boot Campaign, which raises awareness of the work of the U.S. Armed Forces. As part of the campaign, celebrities are encouraging Americans to purchase a pair of army combat boots to wear in support of the troops, with proceeds from boot sales donated to partner charities that provide support and outreach to troops and their families.

CMA Songwriters Series is returning to Los Angeles for the second time in the seven year history of the popular series. Music fans can get up close and personal with some of Nashville’s biggest hitmakers on Tuesday, Feb. 15 (8:00 PM/PT) at Club Nokia.

Featuring two-time CMA Award winner Gretchen Wilson (“Redneck Woman,” “Here For the Party,” and “Work Hard, Play Harder,” all recorded by Wilson) and 2010 CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Chris Young (“Getting You Home,” “Drinkin’ Me Lonely,” and “Voices,” all recorded by Young), the CMA Songwriters Series allows the songwriters to share the stories behind the hits.

"To be called a songwriter is every bit as important to me as being called an artist,” said Wilson. “Country Music has always been about the song - about the story - and I'm excited to be a part of telling that story in LA with this incredible group of songwriters, though with this cast of characters, I think we can guarantee as much laughter as music!"

Joining Wilson and Young will be Brett James (“Cowboy Casanova” recorded by Carrie Underwood, “Out Last Night” recorded by Kenny Chesney, and “The Truth” recorded by Jason Aldean), Victoria Shaw (“The River” recorded by Garth Brooks, “I Love the Way You Love Me” recorded by John Michael Montgomery, and “Too Busy Being In Love” recorded by Doug Stone), and the evening’s host, Bob DiPiero (“Southern Voice” recorded by Tim McGraw, “Blue Clear Sky” recorded by George Strait, and “You Can’t Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl” recorded by “Brooks & Dunn).

"As a performer l love being in a room full of fans that sing along to every word to every song I sing,” said Young. “As a songwriter, to be a part of the CMA Songwriter Series together with such talented writers as Brett James, Victoria Shaw, Gretchen Wilson and Bob DiPiero and be able to share our music is a thrill. Every year just gets better and better and 2011 is off to an incredible start!”
