Kenny Chesney Celebrates Another Milestone With More Than One Million Concert Tickets Sold

Kenny Chesney has sold more than one million tickets on the hottest tour of the year, his 2011 Corona Presents Kenny Chesney’s ‘Goin’ Coastal’ Tour, making it an amazing eight times the superstar has achieved these blockbuster numbers. It's more proof of why Billboard just named Chesney “the biggest ticket seller in country music and among the elite touring artists in the world.”

Chesney has sold nearly 10 million tickets since 2002, and after a year off the road in 2010, this year finds the superstar once again filling stadiums and arenas around the country. The New York Times and USA Today spotlighted ‘Goin’ Coastal’ atop their lists of 2011’s biggest, while The Wall Street Journal called Chesney one of a "handful of acts still capable of filling stadiums."

“We’ve had a blast so far with ‘Goin’ Coastal’ and there have already been so many memorable moments,” Chesney said. “After taking time off in 2010, seeing all the fans out there still supporting me really puts a smile on my face, and to know that they¹re having fun makes it all worthwhile.”

For his ‘Goin’ Coastal’ dates, Chesney has been mixing current hits like the fast-rising new song "You and Tequila" (with Grace Potter), “Live a Little,” “Somewhere With You” and “The Boys of Fall” from 2010’s ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey’ (BNA) with many other of his 22 #1 singles.

Reba & Blake Shelton Raised $500K For Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Country superstars Reba and Blake Shelton raised $500,000 for victims of recent tornados in Atoka County, OK during two sold-out “Tornado Relief Concerts” at the Choctaw Events Center in Durant on May 25 and 26. Susie McEntire-Eaton and Kelly Clarkson made a surprise guest appearance at the May 26 relief show.

The proud Okies did not disappoint, entertaining for over two hours each night and giving their hometown friends support, songs and of course – some comedic banter. The pair co-headlined the event, opening with a duet of “Oklahoma Swing.” Armored with humor, they took turns belting out hits – occasionally harmonizing between songs and jokes – on Reba’s “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” “Why Haven’t I Heard From You,” “Turn on the Radio” and “Consider Me Gone,” as well as Shelton’s “All About Tonight,” “Goodbye Time,” “Hillbilly Bone” and “Some Beach.” The duo also showcased their current singles “When Love Gets a Hold of You” (Reba) and “Honey Bee” (Blake Shelton). Reba and Shelton sent their dedicated audience home with a sense of optimism and an encore. Performing alone for the first time all evening, Shelton performed “Ol’ Red” before Reba made her solo appearance for “Fancy.”
Initially, news of the disaster prompted the stars to reach out with one fundraising event, but when it sold out in less than two hours, they announced a second show. Reba was born just outside of Kiowa, which is approximately 30 miles away from the greatest devastation. Shelton was born in Ada and currently resides in Tishomingo, less than 50 miles from the Atoka County border. All proceeds from both shows, as well as generous donations from The Choctaw Nation and fans, will go towards Atoka County’s ongoing relief efforts through the Tushka Disaster Relief Fund.
In addition to the proceeds already raised, a special mobile fundraising campaign has been set up with The mGive Foundation. Fans can text “OKGIVE” to 27722 to make a one-time $10 donation, which will be added to their monthly cell phone bill. Checks can also be made out to the Tushka Disaster Relief Fund and mailed to: 101 SE 1st Street, Tushka, OK 74525.

LeAnn Rimes Hosts Tornado Relief Benefit Show

On Sunday, June 5th, America's country sweetheart and multi-Grammy Award winner/actress LeAnn Rimes will take the stage for an all acoustic set to assist victims of the tornadoes that ravaged Alabama on April 27th and Missouri on May 22nd.

The evening will not only feature a full acoustic set by LeAnn, but her husband, and new NBC drama star of the show "Playboy," Eddie Cibrian will co-host along with a silent auction that will start before the show begins. The silent auction will include signed memorabilia from Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Kim Kardashian, Reba McEntire, the cast of 'Glee,' and a special auction for a private drink with LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian following the show.

Event coordinator and producer, Jonathan Jaxson spoke about how this came to fruition, "I have wanted to help the victims of the Alabama tornadoes since they happened in April, but didn't have all the money I would like to give to help others to have the chance to get back on their feet. After the recent tornado in Joplin, MO, I couldn't sit any longer and I decided to start calling up celebrity friends and making contact on Twitter with celebrities I knew about joining on for something that can change so many lives in desperate need right now. The first person to reply was, my Twitter friend, LeAnn Rimes. Without question she said, "YES! What can I do to help?" From there it was a matter of 8-hours and I had secured the venue, the talent, and radio promotion partner WQIK. Now we can help here in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL, and can be greatly entertained by doing so with one of country music's greatest!"   Jaxson continued, "I have been in tears for weeks watching these tragedies unfold on TV and online, and now it is time to stand up and do something about it..."

LeAnn says, "We all need a hand sometimes and this is the time. Our heart goes out to Alabama and Missouri and all those affected by the recent tragedies there. I am happy Eddie and I can help out in some way."

Kenny Chesney & City Of Tuscaloosa Share A Memorable Evening

Although the pain from the devastation was still palpable, the sold-out crowd at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater put aside their worries for a few hours last night for a very special evening of Kenny Chesney's 'Goin' Coastal' Tour. Chesney, his management and booking representatives donated all fees and earnings from the show to the tornado relief charity, GiveTuscaloosa.com.

Chesney started the day with lunch with University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban who personally relayed his experiences of the tragedy. Saban's Charity Fund, Nick's Kids, has donated $50,000 to Project Team Up to help victims through the recovery process and to help rebuild the 11% of homes in Tuscaloosa that were destroyed by the tornadoes. To learn more about how you can help and/or to donate money go to www.projectteamup.com.

Before the show, Chesney met with Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox who thanked him for his donation to GiveTuscaloosa.com. Mayor Maddox said, "We refuse to let April 27th define our future and this is another step forward to a new tomorrow. On behalf of the City of Tuscaloosa, I want to thank Kenny and his team for their generosity and compassion. It is the kindness of others that will carry us through as we rebuild Tuscaloosa."

During the show, friend, songwriter, musician and Alabama native Mac McAnally joined Chesney on stage for "Back Where I Come From" and "Down The Road," a 2 week # 1 single for Chesney, both written by McAnally. Currently on tour with Jimmy Buffet as part of the Coral Reefer band, McAnally made the trip to Tuscaloosa on a rare night off to take part in show.

Of the day Chesney said, "I'm so honored to have played Tuscaloosa tonight. This town has always been incredible to me and they are really hurting now. I didn't know if we were doing the right thing by doing the show but after tonight I am convinced that this town needed something to look forward to and I am so glad we played tonight. The highlight for me was singing the Alabama song "My Home's In Alabama". It was as emotional of a moment that we have ever had on stage."

CountryMusicRocks Album Review: Brad Paisley's 'This Is Country Music'

Brad Paisley's highly anticipated new album This Is Country Music is exactly that, Country Music.  It's not just a single on the appropriately titled album, but it is who Brad Paisley represents as a singer, a songwriter and a musician.

This Is Country Music houses 15 songs, 12 of which Paisley co-wrote.  His seasoned vocals once again sound fresh & solid as he delivers an album that is fulfilling to the country music soul.

Each song on the album brings its own unique story to the table with a compelling delivery.  Paisley pays tribute to icons of country music and includes icons as a tribute on his album.

A few of the standout tracks on this new album, in addition to his current hit singles "This Is Country Music" & "Old Alabama", are: "A Man Don't Have to Die" which demonstrats the challenges of life that leaves you vulnerable where you feel like your in hell. "Remind Me", a powerful duet featuring Carrie Underwood, where once again the dynamic chemistry is identified between these two talented artists as they sing about being reminded of the love they once had.  And "Love Her Like She's Leaving" featuring Don Henley, and the brilliant blend of their voices as they sing about embracing love completely & entirely while not letting it slip away - not even just a little.  Make no mistake their are several other standout tracks on this album including ones that showcase Brad's good-nature and light heartedness that we all know & love, as well as his captivating guitar solos leaving you wondering if there are any strings left on his guitars when he is finished.

This is Country Music serves as a trifecta for the genre giving fans a strong sense of emotion, passion and reality.  The album delivers a simple, yet impactful testimony to country music.  A wise man once sang, This is Country Music, and we do...

This Is Country Music is available now everywhere.  Visit your local retailer and pick up a copy, order from Amazon by clicking HERE,or download on iTunes by clicking HERE.
