The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" Reaches Double Platinum Certification

With their latest hit, "You Lie," squarely in the Top 10 on the Country Charts, Republic Nashville's The Band Perry learned that their #1 smash hit, "If I Die Young," had achieved Double Platinum certification from the RIAA for sales exceeding 2 million just as Memorial Day weekend began.

The long weekend is the official kick-off to summer and the news came as The Band Perry launched into several of their own headlining dates on a short break from Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic Tour. As summer continues, so too will the high-energy shows and celebrations.

"It's been an amazing year! So many have embraced the message of 'If I Die Young' and we are humbled that it has impacted so many people. This is truly an honor," said The Band Perry.

"I am so proud of The Band Perry! They never cease to amaze me with their ambition and this honor is proof of that and their incredible talent," said Nashville Republic President, Jimmy Harnen.

On June 2, they will perform as part of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation's SONGWRITERS MUSIC SERIES, Presented by STARBURST®. The Series kicked off in New York with Glee star, Matthew Morrison, will continue with The Band Perry in Nashville and will travel to Los Angeles for a yet-to-be-announced performance. Tickets for the exclusive event in Nashville are available at http://vh1savethemusic.com/node/5507.

As the band dedicates their summer to touring, the accolades continue. This year, fans awarded The Band Perry the coveted title of New Artist of the Year, as well as the ACM for New Duo or Group of the Year. The band's current single, "You Lie," is their fastest-rising to date and is now a Top 10 hit. This is the third single off their self-titled debut album, which was released in October 2010, and certified Gold just four months later. The Band Perry is currently on Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic Tour and will join Keith Urban on the road in September.
