Trace Adkins has received an outpouring of support following the devastating electrical fire that claimed his family's Brentwood, TN home this weekend. Today, he has appealed to friends and fans to instead direct their generosity to those who have lost everything in the wake of recent floods and tornadoes in the South. He asks that the kindness and donations offered to him be extended to the American Red Cross via CMT ONE COUNTRY - those wishing to help can click on redcross.org, call 1-800 RED CROSS or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Message and data rates may apply.
"I have been blessed. My kids are ok, my wife is ok. I have my guitar and my songs. Everything else can be replaced. Unfortunately, there are families out there who need help if they're to rebuild after these recent storms. The American Red Cross was one of the first on the scene to help my family and, through their work, others will receive the assistance they need to get back on their feet," said Trace.
Over the upcoming week, Trace will keep his performance commitments and return to Alaska for his shows in Fairbanks, AK on Wednesday (6/8) and Anchorage, AK on Thursday (6/9). His family, who is well settled at their farm outside Nashville, will rejoin him this weekend for his CMA Fan Fest performance at LP Field.
The Adkins' family farm served as the location for Trace's brand new video for his hit single, "Just Fishin'." The song is a father's tender tribute to his daughter and reiterates the importance of quality time with loved ones. The video stars Trace, and youngest daughter Trinity, in a day on the lake. The video can now be seen online, on CMT and GAC and is available for download today at iTunes. Watch here at www.TraceAdkins.com
Trace's partnership with CMT ONE COUNTRY most recently resulted in his participation in their live, 90-minute concert special, MUSIC BUILDS, featuring performances by an A-List of Country Stars to raise funds for those affected by recent devastating storms, flooding and tornadoes. All money raised from that event benefitted the American Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts.
